awesome job. we all know its hard to mix the science and different capabilities of ships from B5 as compared to Star Trek and Galatica etc. and be fair or unbaised to any of the series. Some people seem to overthink what weapons of one series will do to the defence of another.. they get too technical and forget its all for fun.
I thought that was half the point of being a geek? ;o) Your spot on though. B5 battles are much more based on how tactical battles probably would go in Space. You have the fighter zipping around the capital ships, trying to take out the other fighters, and disable the capital shops defence grips, whilst the capital ships themselves become tactical focal points for holding or attacking the line. Star Trek never took that into account when it first came into being.

I can see where the EA destroyers would hold an advantage. The Starfleet phasers are burst fire weapons were as the EA plasma batteries are more sustained bust. which would eat through those wonderful shields in seconds. Say goodbye Starfleet

The Deep Space 9 series actually talked about that and the need to develope something like Defiant against Borg. The oriiginal intend for Star Trek was “Wagon train to the stars” and peaceful exploration.
That shows in the original series and to a lesser extent TNG, where actual ship to ship combat was relatively rare. But it also happened later shows. DS9 got a lot better as it progressed, but they’re set piece battles still didn’t feel right in comparison to B5. The Defiant is one of the few Star Trek ships I enjoy watching, because it looks like a bruiser of a ship. There’s no doubting what it’s purpose is, especially when it opens up fire.
Defiant was pleasant militaristic surprise to Star Trek, although the DS9 series is more of a melodrama in a very different dramatic direction. I even put it as why Babylon 5 series kinda faded.
What is that other attack ship class? Cross of Runabout and Delta Flyer? In ST Armada RTS game Delta Flyer is referred to as Venture class.

reason why Babylon 5 faded is cause the creator didn’t give the power over the show to the studio. Unlike the original creator of starterk, who just whored out his show out like no other.
yes but viewer need A-B they want to see plot, story line, and evolution of the characters, thats why the only Star Trek to shows i can watch are DS9 and Voyager, the rest are like ok one day were here then the next some where else completely different. SG-1 is the only show that has up exploration and a good plot into one show.
Well that is somewhat the point, episodic or drama style Sci-Fi, your like of DS9 and Voyager do tell me you would personally prefer drama, but viewership spoke volume. B5 crew realized this and spew out ill-conceived Excalibour but somewhat contrived.

Excalibur was in the hands of Joe S. for the first part of production, then when Tnt tried taking over the show. joe pulled the plug. Hes didn’t want his work turned inside out to make some producers and ceos profit, he wanted to make art. no some show that’ll get views.

Because its from the movie *star wreck; in the pirkinning*. Basically, they replaced the federation of planets with Pirks Empire, the C.P.P or something like that.
