To me, songs like this make me feel proud. Most of the world sits in judgment of us Americans and it hurts at times, but together we can sit back and smile at the thought of this song playing in a new Chevy while eating a hotdog and listeing to a baseball game on AM radio…I may be a young man from NY but dammit, I love America.

    wthjrtx1 – Born in ‘71 or ‘72? if you’re 38 – saw Vietnam? I don’t think so….

  • ShoobyBugger says:

Yep, gen X wasn’t the Vietnam era. Boy is confused–thanks for calling him on it.

  • IbanezDog says:

Well I crashed into middle age but I agree that it is a pretty bad ass song. Emerson is right “It is too bad that youth is wasted on the young”.

  • nice16ful says:

my coach made the whole team listen 2 dis it got 2 all us

  • cblhc5 says:

I was lean and solid everywhere. At 45 I’m still pretty solid, but I ain’t nearly as lean. 20 years, where’d they go. 20 years, i don’t know.

  • geronomo123 says:

    Know what You mean.
Will turn 44 within a month.
    Goddamn, tell You this.
We had better music and better women.
    Aahh, the women…..
We had our fair share and less confusion.
    Cherish it.

  • geronomo123 says:

    It’s not about individual Americans.
It’s about corporations and evil politicians.
I have American friends and proud of it.
Cut out the cancer and be proud again.
    The people make the states.
    Corporations fucked it up.

  • geronomo123 says:

    Better believe it.
    That coach means business.
    An old song, no matter.
    It’s honest. That’s what counts.

  • redrocker1055 says:

    “And sometimes late at night
When I’m bathed in the firelight
The moon comes callin a ghostly white
    And I recall” Seger’s a poet… Period!!!

  • cblhc5 says:

AMAZING!! Carryin’ the weight! The most underrated singer/song writer of our time!!!! As far as I’m concerned, if you don’t like Seger, you are not worthy of anything good in this world.

  • Loviedovie134 says:

seger is the man .. listen to roll me away.

  • UberSciFiNerd says:

    best movie ever

  • loomerjoe says:

Obviousl you should have gone in the service yourself – you wouldnt’ speak to a 21-year vet that way if you had.

  • loomerjoe says:

actually, after twenty one years in the military, I have more of an opinion about non-veterans who need to be rude to try to make a point than anything else… and to think your profile page touts the Bible as one of your favorite books.

    Have a nice life….

  • xUNHOLLYx says:
