First of all, True friends dont give u options.

u made them choose between Booze and ur friendship. Of course they will choose booze. Not because they value it more. Just because they know friends dont blackmail u that way. If u were a true friend u would try to be a bit more passive and help them out and if not you should accept them the way they r. If not then move on.
