My new girlfriend turned me on to this song. She called this “lovemaking music”. She was right
wow. that is all i have to say.
oh my god. i never heard of this band. i found them by accident… wow… you put it best
If you’re a free thinker and can actually analyze lyrics, you should be able to decipher the lyrics.
I love this song so peacful
Did this video have a new director? I’ve seen Iron and Wine’s older videos, and they were all pretty boring.
I fuggin love leavin “codes” in my lyrics.
In Genesis ch 3, the beginning of the bible states as the fall of man will result in women going through tremendous pain through child birth and that man will have to work for a limited healthy living. “god left the ground to circle the world” symbolizing the fact that god is everywhere and nowhere at the same time, its like saying God set us up for failure. so sad so deep.
i could analyze every word but its better if you wrap your brain around it.
lol, That’s not exactly what I meant. I meant that one should be able to understand what the lyrics mean.. Not actually putting a real “Code” in the song.
yeah, this song and video are awesome.. good stuff
I wish there was a way to portray some sort of slight sarcasm thru text such as a pair of “parenthasies,” oh well.
i love how he says “snow” at 1:39
i wish people would just stop trying to intellectualize music. just enjoy it for what it is. when i write a song i`ve kinda already been through the process of stripping it apart mixing and matching with hours apon hours of thought going onto it so when it is finished,,,,,,,,for me it is finished, i just want people to seek their own lives in the song, not try and tell me why I wrote it. if you know what i mean.
I don’t think anyone should really understand the lyrics, because everyone should have their own individual interpretation of the emotions conveyed through the lyrics, and just the music itself.
there’s nothing absolute about any song that needs to be understood.
I know, exactly my point. I’m talking about the people that fail to acknowledge any creativity in the lyrics and call it “rubbish”. The people that don’t take the time to analyze the lyrics for themselves and say that it is a nonsense song were my targeted audience.
Beautiful song + Beautiful dancing = Perfect.
wow iron and wine … awsome band !!! love all there songs!!!
What I’ve found with Iron and wine songs is that there is clearly a deep and profound meaning and you know that it is there, but you cannot understand it. Sometimes it’s better to listen and appreciate the mystery and magic.
No…There’s an understandable meaning to this. Just have to find it
i like this song alot
although i c where ur coming from, if ur like me, u define ur life around music. understanding what the author was thinking and feeling just makes it that much more meaningful. just a thought.
yeah that`s also true, but only if you have heard it from the artist first hand. it only bothers me when other people try to project their own meaning into a song, then pass it off as the “real” definition. i kinda just think to myself they are trying to be musical snobs then. but yeh, i agree knowing the artists perspective can make the song all the more interesting.
and also, yes…..i can`t live without music. if i can`t hear it with my ears i`m humming in my head lol
the woman stretching at the beginning is so CUTE
amazingggg my favorite video
agreed
