and if the guitar was in the hard sided case then united should of covered the cost of the damage. if it was in a soft sided case then united has no obligation to cover it when there are hard sided cases he could put it in

I can relate. A month ago, they thrashed the hell out of my brand new luggage; looked like a den of lions used it as a scratching post.

They don’t suck, just a genre you probably don’t like, which is fair enough.
Also, the guitar was in a pretty tough case, one of the better ones actually, thick with double padding. If the people weren’t throwing the guitar around like a toy it wouldn’t of broken. Not like they barely touched it and it broke.
To me, the interesting thing is the democratizing influence of the web. You can basically go over their heads and take you complaint international. I wonder if this will have any long term effect.
Can’t wait for the video to hit itunes! You can make enough to buy a new Taylor. You could set up a link to donate to the cause.
People don’t seem to know that Dave had TWO cases, one hard and one soft, for his guitar. THe hard case was made by Taylor itself.

Thanks for writing this Dave…you are God’s gift to all of us who have ever tried to argue with customer service reps and gotten the standard “I’m sorry but…” answers. You should make a living as a customer advocate : )
LOL. Lots of haters out there. But it’s true: get stronger cases, or don’t complain. And the rest of their songs do suck. Sad but true.
