Crack the Skye(2009) I Flew beyond the sun before it was time Burning all the gold that held me inside my shell Waiting for you to pull me back in I almost sat the world in my sights Lost, love bright eyes fading Faster than stars falling How can I tell you thatI failed? Tell you I failed Fallen from grace cause I been away too long Leaving you behind with my lonesome song Now I’m lost in oblivion I tried to bore a hole into the ground Breaking all the fingers and the nails from my hand The …

This band has started a burning passion inside of me to create music. They’re the biggest influence in my playing. With this whole CD they’ve created a masterpiece that will stand the test of time.

Mastodon is no more of a mainstream poser band than Lamb of God. Both of them garner huge amounts of press but not because they appeal to the lowest common denominator like pop music does. They are not the product of some watered down formula that a record company cooked up to make easy money. Mastodon writes powerful music, they play their instruments well. If you are good, you will be noticed. Mastodon is very good, the press has taken notice.

I really love how mastodon really takes full advantage of having 3 singers in this song. It really adds an element that stands above a lot of hit single songs.

    Your not the only one.

I always thought of them as quite the opposite. Thought they always played how they wanted and what they wanted. I spose the way they were spread across alot of magazines when Leviathan came out would’ve put me off if I hadn’t heard the album first.

Yeah, this album was well made. I’ve always consider Mastodon as a shitty mainstream poser band. But, I don’t know this time this album seem more progressive and it sounds really good. I like the way they have took of putting more clean vocal, I like harsh vocal but not Mastodon’s one. This song is really good, remind me littely of Pink Floyd. Sorry for my english it’s not my mother’s tong. Stay Metal!!!

Bad new thing: The guitarist i can“ t remember the name of have this new mustage which looks more funny than cool :P just for fun! great track and video, incredible how much recognition they get now, i was fan waay before there was any kind of hype about them in the media, a kinda strange feeling, but they diserve it more than many else, not doubt about that!!

  • KingRepulsa says:

no the bassist has always been the lead vocalist but since cyrstal skull, he has taken a back seat to allow a different approach to the vocals….Mastodon no longer has a lead vocalist.
